Botev Plovdiv II (Bulgarian: Ботев Пловдив II) or Botev 2 is a Bulgarian professional football team based in Plovdiv. Founded in 2021, it is the reserve team of Botev Plovdiv, and currently plays in Third League, the third level of Bulgarian football.
Obliged to play one level below their main side, Botev II is ineligible for promotion to First League and also can not compete in the Bulgarian Cup.
History
2021–:Foundation
Since 2015, the Bulgarian Football Union allowed Bulgarian teams to have reserve sides in the lower regional divisions. In the beginning of 2021 Botev Plovdiv announced their intentions to create a reserve team in Second league. In May 2021, the team had doubts about starting the team, but eventually the team was officially announced on 4 June. On 7 June, Daniel Cerejido announced Stefan Stoyanov as the manager of the team, with Botev U19 team, joining the reserve team.
El club fue fundado en 1956 como FC Botev Plovdiv II. En 1999, el club cambió su nombre a FC Botev 1912 Plovdiv II. En 2010, el club se fusionó con el FC Botev Plovdiv y se convirtió en su club filial.
El Botev Plovdiv II juega sus partidos en casa en el estadio Hristo Botev, que tiene una capacidad de 18.000 espectadores. El estadio también es el hogar del Botev Plovdiv.
El Botev Plovdiv II ha ganado la Segunda Liga de Bulgaria en dos ocasiones, en 1970 y 1998. El club también ha ganado la Copa de Bulgaria en una ocasión, en 1985.
El Botev Plovdiv II es uno de los clubes de fútbol más exitosos de Bulgaria. El club ha ganado un total de tres trofeos importantes, y ha jugado en la Primera Liga de Bulgaria en varias ocasiones.
